On the endocranial surface, linear fracture lines extend posteriorly from the inferior petrosal sinus to the left anterior side of the foramen magnum, and posteriorly from the midline of the foramen magnum to ~1cm above the transverse sinus. The latter linear fracture is also visible ectocranially. A second linear fracture crosses the medial end of the sphenobasilar junction. This fracture resembles a partially fused synchrondrosis. There is no evidence of a circumscribed area of impact. The injury shows signs of healing and periosteal deposition indicating infection was present at the injury site and throughout the facial, frontal and intertemporal line regions of the vault. Bony plaques are found along the left sigmoid sinus.
