Fall Accident

  • An oblique supracondylic fracture of the left humerus with displacement medially and upwards and with overall shortening of the bone by about 70 mm. Edges of the fragments are already rather rounded, and the callus, also according to documentation, is still mostly ligamental.

  • On the basis of these features we can conclude that the fractured occurred shortly before death, maybe between two and four weeks.

  • According to the direction of the displacement of the distal fragment, this is a flexional fracture that is caused most often by a fall onto a bent elbow. No luxation of the elbow occurred at the same time with the fracture.
