Curator notes

Female, between 25 to 30 years old. Two tattoos and the osteobiography were useful in her identification.

Scientific notes

This cranium presents three different lesions. The lesion on the left parietal represents BFT and was probably the first made. Lineal and concentric fractures are observable in this lesion. The second lesion is on the left frontal and is also a BFT. Flakes are still attached to the edge of the bone and a linear fracture, which runs anterior-posterior, stops at the first lesion.
The lesion observed on the right frontal was posible made by a gunshot, with a posterior-anterior trajectory running almost tangential to the cranium. The bullet entered the crania leaving an internal belvel and the exit was though the right orbit.

Three lesions are observable: two BFT lesions, one on the left parietal bone and the second on the left frontal, and a oblique gun shot wound in the posterior-anterior direction on the right frontal.

  • Detail of the gunshot wound on right frontal. The bullet was almost tangential to the cranium, but it penetrates obliquely through the interior, exiting through the right orbit.
